August Lawn Bowling on Our Greens Will be Excellent !
August is upon us and it is a perfect month for lawn bowling.
Check your calendars and take advantage of all the regularly scheduled playing times. Attendance has been great this year and we look forward to rolling through August.
Of special note is our next Club tournament as per the details below. July's tournament was lots of fun and everyone went home with a small prize ! The food was also a big success for all. Don't miss the next tournament. All members welcome.

Great Bowling on our Greens and Upcoming July Activities
Finally summer weather has arrived and our greens are very busy places indeed. Lawn bowling is in full swing in Brampton with great support from our membership. We have seen lots of good bowling and fellowship already this season.
This year members have enjoyed an excellent turnout for our annual Strawberry Social evening of bowling and strawberries and ice cream. Delicious !
Our Weight and Line of Delivery clinic was very well attended and we all learned tips to improve our bowling. Many thanks to Ralph Ellis from OLBA for being our guest coach.
Members are supporting all of our playing times and the most popular so far this season are the Monday night Jitney format, the Tuesday morning 4-3-2-1 format and the Mens and Ladies separate drop ins on Tuesday nights. Of course don't forget Wednesday night and Thursday morning mixed drop ins and the mixed triples league play on Thursday nights.
For July, take special note of two events:
Thursday July 11th at 7:30 pm
Come out and support the Mixed Triples League play down between the winners of the First and Second Series. The winner of this match will play in the league final at the end of the season. Also being played at the same time will be a mixed drop in for all other members of the Club. Come out and enjoy a Thursday night game even if you don't play regularly on Thursday evenings.

The good news is that there is still time to come out to join the fun and learn the great sport of lawn bowling.
New bowlers and new members to our Club are always welcome.
No experience or equipment needed. Instruction provided.
Low cost membership to enjoy bowling with fellow members.
Playing times are Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Monday to Thursday evenings plus some Saturdays.

Are you ready to try a new sport for life and get some fresh air and low impact exercise?
Are you ready to join a new club to play from May to September for a low cost membership?
Then come and roll some bowls with us ! We look forward to meeting you.
The Brampton Lawn Bowling Club is eagerly preparing for its 2019 outdoor season starting the beginning of May. New bowlers are always welcome to join and learn this great sport. New members are always welcome at our Club. We have over 100 years of experience of providing lawn bowling in the Peel Region.
All adults welcome. Free trial and instruction for new bowlers.
No equipment needed. Wear comfortable clothes and flat soled shoes.
Greens and clubhouse are located at the Flower City Community Campus, Brampton which is located at the South West corner of Queen Street West and McLaughlin Road North in Brampton.

Passing of long time member and Past President Jim Laird
The Brampton Lawn Bowling Club is saddened by the news of the passing of Jim Laird on Monday February 11, 2019.
Jim was a long time member of our Club and a Past President. His presence and friendship around our Club will be truly missed by his many friends and fellow bowlers. Jim was an avid and accomplished bowler and a true Scottish gentleman. He was well known for his love of wearing his Scottish kilt to Club events and his skills at the barbeque for Club dinners. His enthusiastic support of Club activities was most appreciated. Jim also generously volunteered his support on the greens to the Club's Power Bowlers Group.
